I think China is playing a bigger role than Russia these days.
Remember, the EU is a growing & dominating power. Soon, it'll start claiming to be a new indepenent pole in the world. See what happened in Iraq invasion! EU didn;t want to give the USA the suprime power and desissions over the world.
