More money for Russia
Russia's preliminary figures for arms export sales last year reached $5.6 billion to $5.7 billion, beating $5.5 billion in 2003, largely on the continuing strength of Chinese and Indian contracts.

The Russian government has confirmed its 2005 National Defence Order (NDO): the biggest in the past few years. According to Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov, the federal budget of 2005 allocates Rb187 billion (US$ 6.7 billion) to the NDO

Russia should pay attention to the new customers such as South Korea, Israel, Brazil and some other countries. In 2005, China is expected to increase its military budget by the percentage of 20. China will undoubtedly be the first customer for Russia in terms of money.

Israel? What would Israel to buy from Russia? USA is the big seller to Israel. I think USA will not lose any new contract from 'his' friend.

South Korea? I think in same direction. T-50 is a jointly made aircraft between S. Korea and USA, thas tell me South Korea will buy any armament from USA.

So, Sukhoi, you are pretty wrongy. South Korea is not only a US armament purchaser, the country buys from Russia light aviation airplanes IL-103, Ka-32 transport helicopters, makes negotiations about the purchase of other models of Kamov's helicopters, wants to buy T-90 tanks. and maybe other types of armament, that I don't know.

Right, Russia sell S. Korea about 30 T-80U.
Russia (Sergei Ivanov) denied that want to sell any ballistic missile to Syria (SS-26).

Brazil wanted to buy some Su-35 or something like that? Any new contracts on Su or MiG?

Yes, there are new contracts on Su and MiG. Negotiations are following. Because of the Tzunami Indonesia wants to delay the delivery of Su-30MKI (Indonesian variant), but this is only a matter of time. Certainly they will buy the jets. In IAPO (Irkutsk) has begun work on Malaysian contact about 18 Su-30MKM. They will deliver the first plane mid 2006. China follows buying Su-27SK and Su-30MKK (Kitai = China variant), IAPO delivers to India parts for the Su-30MKI jets that will be Indian production (by Hindustan Aeronautics). Vietnam buys small amounts of Su-27 and Su-30 variants with older radio-electronic equipment. and there are small deliveries of Sukhoi family airlanes to other countries, but I don't remember at the moment. They are not very significant, because of the small amounts.

The situation in MiG is not so pink. The last years they had problems, they didn't have any new contracts, but lastly there were negotiations and they finished the Sudan and Yemen contracts, now they are working on Algerie and Columbia and few other latin and North-african countries. There will be deliveries of MiG-29SMT, MiG-29OVT, MiG-29UBT and "maybe" of MiGAT (the training plane, which lost the battle with Yak-130 for the russian air force delivery).
Work on indian contract for carrier born MiG-29K follows, they will deliver the first airplane in 2006. Definitely situation in MiG is going to be better with the new general manager (he had a lot of success when he managed IAPO Irkutsk).

So, I think there are other contracts, but maybe they are pretty new for the media and we haven't read about them yet. It is for sure.

Ok, you are right, sorry for tsunami's victims.
But Brazil? I read some time ago Brazil wanted to buy in 1989 Su-27 but Sukhoi 27 wasn't for sale in late '80. Brazil wanted a few years ago Su-35/37. Any details?

Differences between Su-35 and 37 are very small, no?

Officially Sukhoi has won the competition for delivery for the Brasilian air force of 18 Su-35. Russian military specialists use the name Su-35 when they talk about the delivery for the Brasil air force. And the jets will really possess the characteristics of the Su-35 prototype airplane, and even more. the Sukhoi variant for Brasil will be with the most advanced electronic equipment. the problem is: Brasil and Russia want to make the following: "Aeroflot" needs middle range passenger airplanes, Brasil produces such planes. And Russia will buy them, nearly 50 for the price of those 18 Su-35. But "Aeroflot" is waiting for the Antonov new middle range airplane and the Sukhoi Civil Airplanes project. They don't want to buy old planes (as a construction and model), that's why the deal between Russia and Brasil is not ready yet. Simply Brasil hoped to sell to russian companies their civil airplanes. I think they will not have the luck to do it. That's why they are a little bit angry and stopped the deal for the Su-35 delivery.

Yes, I think like you. How can Russia buy a civil planes from Brazil when Antonov, Tupolev and Sukhoi can make almost all kind of civil airplanes.

If Brazil want Su-35 will buy it, and will be a very good choise.
